Arkansas

December 1, 2007 - Investigators worked with the Springdale Police to bust illegal business competitors. On December 1, 2007, investigators surveying a flea market, identified 11 booths selling counterfeit music. Teamed with law enforcement officials, investigators raided each vendor booth. After four booth operators abandoned their product, seven more were left for officials to identify. A total of 9 vendors were arrested. Investigators were able to help seize 14,908 pirated CDRs and 1,724 DVDRs.

Florida

December 21, 2007 - Investigators teamed up with the Vero Beach Police Department during a search of a burner lab. When officials entered the business, they discovered one individual running a burner lab operation. Investigators were able to assist in seizing 23 burners, 2,721 CDRs, 1,090 DVDRs, 2 laptops, 2 printers, 2 VHS players, 2 DVD players, 2 monitors and 2 keyboards.

Illinois

December 2007 - An incident began when officials were called to the man's residence in Calumet City, IL regarding a domestic disturbance. Police arrived and found more than a disturbance. Inside the house, officers found an active burner lab. The man later admitted to burning CDs and DVDs for the past six months. Investigators were able to seize a total of 7 burners, 2,000 CDRs and 8,000 DVDRs.

Massachusetts

December 5, 2007 - The New York office assisted the Boston Police Department in busting a suspect. Officials executed a search warrant at the subject's residence and uncovered more than CDs and DVDs. Along with counterfeit product, they also found 62 bags of marijuana and a .357 Magnum handgun. Investigators were able to seize a total of 258 CDRs, 6 music DVDs and 92 MPAA/DVDs.

Michigan

December 2007 - While executing a search warrant, Officers with the Detroit PD found a large burner lab. In addition to burning CDs and DVDs, the owner was also caught with two ounces of marijuana. Officials seized a total of 44 burners, 233 CDRs and 580 DVDRs. The owner was arrested and then later charged.

Texas

December 2007 - The McAllen Police Department conducted an investigation at a possible drug trafficking location. Detectives utilized a "knock and talk" to find out what was happening behind closed doors. When officials entered the location, they discovered large amounts of suspect counterfeit DVDs. Officers then asked a female subject what was going on at the residence. She kindly responded that the people living in the home copy movies. They asked, she answered..no interrogating necessary. She was then arrested and officials continued their counterfeit search. Investigators were able to help McAllen PD identify all the product. A total of 90 burners were seized, along with 37,495 DVDs, 14,500 blank DVDs, 30,500 CD/ DVD paper sleeves and 98 CDs.
