RIAA Anti-Piracy Seizure Information

On February 19, 2004, members of the Houston Police Department, along with investigators from the RIAA, conducted a buy bust operation and seized 173 pirate CD-Rs containing illicit sound recordings from a street vendor. The individual was arrested and charged with a violation of Texas’ True Name and Address statute. The inventory seized was 100 percent of the Latin music genre and included artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, Vicente Fernandez, and others.
